The role of Country Purchaser is to manage country specific purchasing topics to support regional business development. To do so the jobholder drives regional execution and supply continuity aligned with global strategies and regional business needs, facilitating Hager global sourcing footprint.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Being accountable to manage a defined group of vendors and partnerships in order to reach Hager objectives regarding quality, costs, lead time, compliance and sustainable criteria to ensure the application of concerned sourcing strategy. To do so she/he leads the commercial negotiations.
- Incorporate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) requirements as part of the sourcing and ensures that vendors and any other business partners are matching Hager objectives set in the Code of Sustainable Sourcing.
- Develop and manage overall regional sourcing roadmaps and strategies for assigned spend categories aligned with group sourcing policy and strategies and oversee the execution of initiatives. Be accountable for reporting of sourcing savings and compliance.
- Promote collaboration between Hager’s Category Management to find synergies and unlock additional sourcing opportunities and negotiate aggregated volumes to achieve commercial benefits.
- Ensure deployment of category strategies in the regions.
- Drive a high-level performance within a culture of collaboration, whilst focusing on process standardization, implementation of best in class practices.
- Drive the implementation and regional rollout of the “No PO, No Pay” group initiative, ensuring local stakeholder alignment and compliance and provide required deliverables in time.
- Establishing and maintaining a supplier base that effectively safeguards the company against financial and operational risks. This includes the development and implementation of action plans for identified risk suppliers. In addition, the position ensures full compliance with the Group Purchasing Policy throughout all relevant processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic degree or relevant commercial/technical education.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience of purchasing and procurement techniques.
- Proven track record of delivery of value from strategic activities.
- Operationally und technical savvy and having the ability to effectively manage projects simultaneously whilst meeting agreed deadlines and goals.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and collaborate across functions, businesses, geographies and disciplines.
- Strong presence and interpersonal skills, with the drive to build effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders, vendors and other business partners.
- Proven negotiation skills up to senior management level with understanding of contractual negotiation, development, and local regulations.
- Fluent proficiency in English, Spanish and Catalan.
