We are currently looking for our futureEngineering Architect (m/f/d)based in Blieskastel for a permanent contract.
As Engineering Architect (m/f/d)you will be responsible for defining, designing and overseeing end-to-end system architectures for connected solutions. You translate stakeholder needs into robust technical solutions and ensure that architectures are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design and specify system and product architectures that meet functional requirements while ensuring reliability, scalability and reusability.
- Translate customer and stakeholder needs into high-level architecture models and technical specifications.
- Define the overall system structure, interfaces and dependencies across devices, gateways, edge systems, cloud platforms and mobile applications.
- Ensure interoperability between system layers and specify interfaces between products and platforms.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers and program managers to align technical choices with product roadmaps.
- Evaluate and improve existing architectures, identify risks and propose proofs of concept (PoCs) to validate new approaches.
- Provide development teams with architecture documentation, guidelines and standards including tools, platforms and coding practices.
- Support the selection and integration of technologies, communication protocols and external partners (hardware, software and services).
- Ensure architectural compliance regarding cybersecurity, reliability, scalability and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, open-source compliance).
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives such as API design guidelines, cybersecurity frameworks and systems engineering standards.
- Monitor technological trends and emerging solutions in IoT, Edge Computing, Artificial Intelligence and connected systems.
- Promote technical innovation and best practices through prototypes, reusable components and architecture improvements.
- Communicate architecture decisions clearly to stakeholders and ensure alignment across multidisciplinary and international teams.
Your profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering field.
- Significant experience in system architecture and product development for connected solutions, ideally across several lifecycle phases (concept, development, maintenance).
- Experience working in an international and cross-functional environment.
- Strong knowledge of IoT architectures and protocols (e.g. MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, BACnet, Matter, Zigbee, KNX).
- Experience with edge computing environments (Linux, BSP, drivers, kernel, build systems).
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure), APIs and connected platforms.
- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts for connected systems.
- Experience with architecture modelling and systems engineering approaches (MBSE is a plus).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex architectures to diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborative working style and experience working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to drive alignment and influence architectural decisions across teams.
- Fluent English (B2/C1), German or French would be an advantage.
